Giants add Brandon Allen as quarterback room takes shape

The Giants have signed brandon allen, adding another arm to the roster as the team moves toward spring practices in Eastern Time. The move gives the Giants a third quarterback under contract and brings brandon allen back together with Brian Callahan, the team’s passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Brandon Allen joins Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston

The signing was completed as the Giants continued to build out their quarterback room, with Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston already under contract for 2026. Brandon Allen becomes the third quarterback on the roster, a depth move that comes as the team gears up for spring work.

Allen’s addition also carries a familiar coaching link. He spent last season with the Titans, and he previously overlapped with Brian Callahan in Cincinnati earlier in their careers. That connection now carries over to New York, giving the Giants a quarterback who already knows the coach leading that position group.

Brandon Allen’s recent stops and career line

Allen was originally a sixth-round selection by Jacksonville in 2016 and has spent time with the Jaguars, Rams, Broncos, Bengals, 49ers, and Titans. In his NFL career, he has appeared in 19 games with 10 starts, completing 183 of 323 passes for 1, 882 yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Last season, Allen appeared in one game for Tennessee, finishing 17 of 30 for 72 yards and one interception. The move to New York also reunites him with Callahan after their earlier time together in Cincinnati and Tennessee.

Why the Giants made the move now

The timing fits the Giants’ current roster picture. With spring practices approaching, the team has a clearer setup at quarterback, and Brandon Allen gives the group another experienced option without changing the basic structure of the room.

The Giants have not added him for spectacle; they have added him for organization, familiarity, and depth. Brandon Allen now steps into a quarterback room that already includes Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston, and the next stage will be how the Giants use that group once spring work begins in ET.
