Maxim Logue Commits to North Carolina After FAU Transfer

Maxim Logue has committed to North Carolina through the NCAA Transfer Portal, adding another frontcourt piece to the Tar Heels as their offseason rebuild continues. The move gives Maxim Logue a new home after one season at Florida Atlantic, where he played a steady reserve role. He now enters a North Carolina roster that is still taking shape under Michael Malone.

Maxim Logue brings size and experience to UNC

Maxim Logue is a 6-foot-9 big man with two seasons of eligibility remaining, and his profile reflects a player who has already logged time in multiple competitive settings. He appeared in 28 games for FAU this past season and did not start, averaging 4. 8 points and 3. 1 rebounds in 11. 2 minutes per game.

He shot 67. 4% from the field and attempted three 3-pointers, missing all three. Before arriving at FAU, Maxim Logue spent his true freshman season at Oregon State, where he made 21 appearances and averaged 6. 6 minutes per game. His path now continues in Chapel Hill, where North Carolina has already added several transfers this offseason.

What Maxim Logue means for North Carolina

Maxim Logue is the fourth transfer to commit to North Carolina this offseason, a sign of the scale of the roster movement underway after the program changed coaches. The Tar Heels fired Hubert Davis and replaced him with longtime NBA head coach Michael Malone, who arrives with a championship résumé and a clear task: reshape the roster quickly.

Malone coached in the NBA from 2001 to 2025 and led the Denver Nuggets to an NBA title in 2023. His arrival has already set a new tone around the program, and Maxim Logue adds to a transfer class that is helping define this transition.

Maxim Logue and the path to Chapel Hill

Maxim Logue is originally from Paris, France. Before entering college basketball, he played for Paris Basketball in LNB Pro A, the top French league, and also represented France at the 2023 U18 European Championships.

That background gives North Carolina a player with international experience, college familiarity, and room to develop further over the next two seasons. For a team in the middle of a major reset, Maxim Logue fits the profile of a recruit who can add depth while the roster settles.

UNC roster turnover keeps moving

The transfer window opened on April 7 and closes on April 21, though players are not required to finalize a destination by that deadline. North Carolina’s activity reflects a broader wave of movement, and Maxim Logue is one more piece in that process.

With Maxim Logue now headed to UNC, the Tar Heels continue to build around their new coach and a roster that is still changing fast. More commitments could follow, but for now, Maxim Logue stands as a clear addition to a program trying to move quickly into its next chapter.
