Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the interior of its new GT 4-Door Coupé, and amg’s cockpit is dominated by a full-width digital display. The electric super-saloon will take on the Porsche Taycan and Lotus Emeya when it launches later this year. Mercedes-AMG says the cabin blends next-generation digital functionality with analogue ergonomics to keep driving engagement front and center.
Amg interior dominated by three screens and a roof display
The cabin is defined by a single, full-width digital display that hosts three separate screens: a 10. 2-inch instrument cluster, a 14. 0-inch infotainment panel angled toward the driver, and an optional second 14. 0-inch touchscreen for the front passenger. In an unusual twist for the segment, the twin-pane panoramic roof doubles as a display surface: AMG emblems can be projected above the front occupants’ heads and racing stripe graphics can be illuminated to match ambient lighting. Mercedes-AMG described the cockpit as a highly bespoke, performance-oriented environment evolved from the record-setting AMG GT XX concept car.
Driving controls, ergonomics and seat layout
The centre console is angled toward the driver to emphasize the GT’s performance focus, and three new drive-mode controllers sit within easy reach. The Response Control knob adjusts throttle sharpness, the Agility Control dial alters the car’s willingness to rotate through bends, and a third controller manages traction control across nine settings. The flat-bottomed steering wheel carries haptic controls and two control dials—one for drive mode, one for suspension—with integrated LCD readouts, while chunky column paddles control regenerative braking. The GT 4-Door is fitted with four bucket seats as standard, with the rears able to fold individually; buyers can opt instead for a conventional three-seat bench.

“The entire philosophy is designed for intuitive control of all relevant driving controls, ” Mercedes-AMG said, framing the interior design as driven by performance usability. Markus Schäfer, Mercedes’ former technology chief, emphasized the emotional priorities that guided development: “How does the car feel in terms of noise, in terms of sound level, in terms of the vibration, in terms of the gearshift? It has to touch the emotional side of you. ” He added that the team sought to transfer the character of race-oriented V8 and V12 AMGs into the electric GT project.

The GT 4-Door Coupé interior is a key part of Mercedes-AMG’s first bespoke electric car program; all previous AMG-badged EVs were based on existing Mercedes-Benz road cars. The company plans a full reveal of the new AMG GT 4-Door Coupé later this spring, and a closely related performance SUV using the same powertrains and interior treatment will follow shortly after.
