Ringo Starr unveils Long Long Road: new 10-track album announced

The single, It’s Been Too Long featuring Sarah Jarosz and Molly Tuttle, arrived on Tuesday (ET) while the full Long Long Road is set to hit shelves on 24 April (ET). The announcement, co-writing credit with American producer T Bone Burnett and recording in Nashville and Los Angeles, frames the release as a country and Americana project with high-profile collaborators.
Ringo Starr: collaborators, sound and recording
Long Long Road is a 10-track record co-written by Sir Ringo Starr and T Bone Burnett and recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles. The album leans into country and Americana stylings and features collaborators Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow and St Vincent. The opening single It’s Been Too Long features Sarah Jarosz and Molly Tuttle and was released on Tuesday (ET), marking the first public taste of the new record.
The record follows Sir Ringo’s 2025 album Look Up, which was his first number one album on the UK’s official country chart, and it includes some of the same band-members from that project. Sir Ringo said the title reflects his path: “I like to say sometimes I make the right moves, like you can go left or right at any point, and one of the right moves was hooking up with T Bone for Look Up, and now for this one, which I’m calling Long Long Road, because I’ve been on a long long road. ” The project also nods to guitarist Carl Perkins; the album contains a Perkins track called “I Don’t See Me In Your Eyes Anymore” that both Starr and Burnett wanted to include.
Immediate reactions from Sir Ringo Starr and T Bone Burnett
Sir Ringo Starr, the former Beatles drummer, described his partnership with T Bone Burnett as a blessing: “I’m blessed to have T Bone (Burnett) in my life right now and working with me on these records. ” T Bone Burnett, an American record producer and guitarist who played with Bob Dylan in the 1970s and has won a number of Grammys and an Oscar for film soundtracks including O Brother Where Art Thou and Walk the Line, praised Starr’s musicianship and their creative spark. Burnett said the pair decided to write a song after attending a poetry reading together and called Starr a musician of the “highest calibre. ” He added, “I wrote him a Gene Autry type song because I always heard Ringo as a Texas artist, the way he played felt just like Texas music to me. “
What’s next for Long Long Road and the artist
Long Long Road will be released on 24 April (ET). Fans will next hear how the 10-track record co-written with T Bone Burnett and featuring high-profile collaborators sits alongside Sir Ringo’s previous work; the first single has already been issued and sets the tone for the album’s country and Americana direction. Observers can expect further details and promotional activity ahead of the 24 April (ET) release, and ringo starr’s choice of collaborators and material signals a continuation of the approach that followed his 2025 Look Up album.
