Paige Adams has been arrested after a grand jury indictment tied to allegations involving a student at Cold Springs High School in Alabama. The former girls basketball coach was taken into custody after resigning from the school following an internal complaint and investigation. Authorities say the case remains active, and no further details will be released while the investigation continues.

Paige Adams faces charges that include having sex or deviant sexual intercourse with a student, sexual contact with a minor under 19, and 30 additional counts of distributing obscenity to a student. The indictment totals 32 counts, and Cullman County District Attorney Champ Crocker said the grand jury action speaks for itself.
Crocker said the charges could carry a sentence of up to 31 years in prison. Paige Adams was released from jail after posting a $225, 000 bond and is required to wear an electronic tag.

The case escalated after a special meeting on March 25, when the Cullman County Board of Education approved Adams’ resignation. Shane Barnette, superintendent of Cold Springs Schools, said the resignation followed an investigation into a complaint filed against Adams. Barnette said this was the first formal complaint he had received about the employee, and that the investigation began immediately once the concern was raised. The school district has not released additional information, citing the ongoing nature of the case.
