Schuldt has a 75. 67 stroke average across 21 rounds in her freshman season, with five par-or-better scores highlighted by a 3-under 69 in the final round of the Chevron Collegiate last month; her best finish is a tie for 15th at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate with an even-par 216 (70-70-76). Bastarrica has played four tournaments and holds a 76. 42 average; her top finish is 34th at the Lady Luck Invitational and her best 54-hole score is 225 (74-78-73) at the Chevron Collegiate.
Immediate reactions: UTSA frames it as a “busy week”
UTSA Athletics described the Roadrunners as beginning a “busy week” with the Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin, before continuing to the MountainView Collegiate on Friday-Sunday, March 20-22, at The Preserve in Tucson, Arizona.
Quick context: program history at this event and at UT Golf Club
This is UTSA’s fourth time competing in the Betsy Rawls Invitational and its first appearance since 2015. UTSA placed 12th in 2015 after tying for 11th and finishing 10th in its previous two trips.
UTSA also competed at UT Golf Club in the 2018 NCAA Austin Regional, taking 12th for what it called the program’s highest postseason finish in the older 18-team format.
What’s next after Austin
Once the final Tuesday scores are in from Austin, attention will turn quickly to UTSA’s next stop: the MountainView Collegiate, scheduled for Friday-Sunday, March 20-22, in Tucson. For now, the immediate spotlight remains on Monday’s 36-hole opening test—and on how troy university and the rest of the field navigate a tightly scheduled, two-day finish at the University of Texas Golf Club.
