Luanda after TAAG’s Premium Economy return on the São Paulo route
luanda is back at the center of a refreshed long-haul offering as TAAG reintroduces a Premium Economy cabin on the São Paulo (GRU)–Luanda (LAD) route, operated with the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
What happens when Luanda becomes the anchor point for a three-cabin product again?
TAAG has announced the return of Premium Economy on the São Paulo–Luanda route, available from March 1, 2026, on flights DT 747 and DT 748, operated with Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The reinstated cabin sits between Economy and Business, restoring a three-class structure on the service.
On the Boeing 787-9, the total capacity is 313 passengers, distributed across Business Class (16 seats), Premium Economy (21 seats), and Economy (276 seats). Cabin layouts are 1-2-1 in Business, 2-3-2 in Premium Economy, and 3-3-3 in Economy. TAAG positions the intermediate cabin as offering more space between seats and differentiated services compared with Economy.
What if sales access and installment options reshape how travelers book the São Paulo–Luanda flight?
TAAG is making Premium Economy tickets available through its usual sales channels: stores, call center, the “flytaag” app, its website, and partner travel agencies. For flights originating in Brazil, the airline also offers an installment option of up to four interest-free payments, applicable exclusively to purchases made through travel agencies.
The route currently has four weekly flights between São Paulo and Luanda, with departures from São Paulo/Guarulhos on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The service links Guarulhos to Angola’s capital, supporting access to TAAG’s regional network beyond the transatlantic leg.
What happens when stopover flexibility and onward connections from Luanda drive itinerary choices?
Passengers flying São Paulo–Luanda can also use a stopover option in Angola for up to five days. Brazilian citizens benefit from visa exemption for stays of up to 90 days, enabling travelers to add time in Angola before continuing their trip.
From Luanda, TAAG offers connections to nine cities on the African continent: Cape Town and Johannesburg (South Africa), São Tomé (São Tomé and Príncipe), Windhoek (Namibia), Maputo (Mozambique), Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo), Brazzaville (Republic of the Congo), Lagos (Nigeria), and Nairobi (Kenya). The airline also connects 12 provinces in Angola and operates flights to Europe, with Portugal listed as a destination.
